It’s holiday season and plenty of people are messaging asking for games to get to on the island in August.
Understandably, the season starts a little later than what we are accustomed to in the UK, but there are some pre-season games and a few cup fixtures scheduled in for August.
The first big game of the season is a meeting between last season’s league and cup winners, as CD Migjorn take on CE Ferreries on August 14th.
Then towards the end of the month is the Menorca section of the Balearics Cup, with the overall winners going through to face compatriots from Mallorca or Ibiza for the potential chance of playing in this season’s Copa Del Rey.
Involved in that are the four highest ranked teams still playing in the island competition – CE Ferreries, CE Alaior, UD Mahon and Sporting Mahon.
There are 10 teams in the Menorca Honor Division this season, with the league season kicking off on November 29.
Before that though is the traditional Menorca Cup competition, which gets underway on September 12. This features all 10 teams playing each other once. This used to be split in to two groups of five, but it seems this year that they are all participating in one division. The top four would go through to the semi-finals.
