Atletico Villacarlos youth earn first win of the season

Atletico Villacarlos registered their first win of the Youth Honor Division season this week, beating San Francisco 1-0.

As reported last week, they had gone 12 games without tasting victory to start the 2020/21 season – but that run came to an end on Wednesday.

Seba Taltavull scored the only goal of the game after just two minutes, and Joan Melia’s side were able to hang on to earn the three points.

They survived late drama too, when Llopart had a goal ruled out for offside in injury time.

Villacarlos had lost four out of four in 2021 before this one, conceding 23 goals in the process, to the win marks a fine turnaround.

They are at home to Damm on Sunday (Feb 14) before another home game against Girona on Wednesday (Feb 17). They then travel to Mallorca to face San Francisco next Saturday (Feb 20).
