Over the past decade, there has been a real boom in football shirt culture. So let’s explore what colours are being worn in Menorca this season.
What’s your favourite?
UD Mahon
Let’s start with, in my opinion, the most iconic kit on the island, UD Mahon. One of the islands most historic clubs play in a wonderful blue shirt with yellow bar through the middle, and you know whenever you see this kit, that it’s UD Mahon.

Atletico Villacarlos
Another yellow and blue number, this time for Atletico Villacarlos. They have the added bonus of their uniquely shaped club badge. In the modern-day era of round badges and the old style crests, you very rarely find one in this rotated square / diamond shape.

CCE Sant Lluis
A third club and the same manufacturer – Luanvi. Luanvi is a Spanish based sportswear brand, dating back more than 50 years. They are very much a community sport led operation, with more than 3,200 clubs across football, basketball, volleyball and handball.

CD Menorca
The first club to show you home and away shirts are CD Menorca. Their blue and red home colours are strong and recognisable on the island. A raised colour not too commonplace these days either. These look quite like a throwback shirt.
Now CD Menorca are one club who does advertise that they have shirts for sale, available from their stadium.

CD Migjorn
Now you might have noticed that CD Migjorn haven’t used their own players to model these kits…
One of the stories of the past few years on the island, and the current league leaders, play in green and white. Green is a colour seldom used in the UK, but is certainly more prominent in Spain in particular. A solid option.

CE Alaior
Black and white stripes are iconic. Be it Notts County, Newcastle, Juventus or Grimsby Town. That honour on Menorca goes to CE Alaior. Of course, you have the limitations on just how many different ways can you do black and white stripes!

Ciutadella CE
Menorca’s newest club, courtesy of the 2024 merger, is CE Ciutadella. They have a very modern-set logo and it looks nice on their strips, which they keep clean and simple. Maroon provides them a colour that firmly differentiates them from the other clubs on the island. UE Sami wore green, Atletic Ciutadella wore red and CF Dosa were red and black.
A Joma manufactured jersey too, they are another that advertise the kit as being for sale in a local boutique.

CE Ferreries
Interesting to see the club logo has become transparent on this kit, not sure if that was deliberate or intentional (heck, I sometimes have the same problem when creating graphics for this very site). This kit includes a nod to the celebrations of 100 years of Ferreries.

CE Mercadal
Not sure if this is subconscious or not because CE Mercadal are the island’s top team and playing at a higher level, but this shirt just oozes a bit of class and professionalism. Red and white stripes, strong red sleeves, prominent club crest which is again a fairly unique shape. Sponsor isn’t too garish. I’d buy this.

Penya Ciutadella
Didn’t take the designer long to do this one. Blue tee. That’ll do.

Sporting Mahon
My dream is to get my hands on a shirt from the old Sporting Mahones days. Of course, the chances are extremely unlikely, but you never know. This is the successor club’s effort for 2025/26.
Said before how do you do stripes differently. Well Sporting Mahon have had a go with an effect on their blue and white stripes. Not too keen on it myself. The flash of pink gives them some way of differentiating.

In response to the inevitable questions, replica shirts are hard to come by from the Menorcan clubs. They are, after all, amateur clubs, with the exception of CE Mercadal currently in Tercera Division.
But if you are on the island, pop by to a ground and they may have the odd one available to buy, as some visitors to the island have found.
If you do get your hands on one, make sure you send us a pic – via email to goals@menorcafootball.com or via Facebook, Twitter/X or Instagram.
