CE Ferreries have won the 2025/26 Menorca Cup title after beating holders Sporting Mahon 2-0 in the final.
Carlos Febrer scored both goals to seal Ferreries’ 11th cup trophy and their first since the 2013/14 season. That too was won at Los Pinos, the home of CE Alaior, which is where this year’s final was held.
Febrer told Menorca.info: “We all played a great match. If I can help win the Cup for my hometown club, it’s the greatest thing I could ask for, along with my brother David. I’m very happy, and I can’t forget all my teammates who, together, made this a great cup tournament.”
The packed crowd were still settling in to their seats when Febrer opened the scoring inside five minutes from the penalty spot, and he doubled their lead on 21 minutes.
That gave Sporting, without suspended trio David Romero, Lucas Olsina and David Viafara, a mountain to climb and Ferreries saw out the final with the minimum of fuss.
It marks the first title of Ferreries coach Miqual Capo’s career, and they head in to the league campaign as one of the favourites.
He told Menorca.info: “It’s my first title. The difficult thing is reaching a final and winning it, and for me it means another step in my coaching career, gaining experience.
“At this moment I am very happy, full of joy and very proud of all the work done by the squad since last August, where we started and culminated it with this Cup title.”
